Matt and Sherry write songs that express their heart and passion for God and life. Their personal experiences are a big part of the songs on Don’t Walk, Run, and their prayer is that you will be encouraged and blessed by this CD.
“We are very excited about this new CD. We gave our session players free reign to add their creative ideas to the arrangements of these songs. It was the most enjoyable and the best outcome for all of us. Our desire is to bless people with these songs and to encourage hope and freedom to those who listen.” -Matt & Sherry

The arrangements for these songs are purposely simplistic and kept to a minimum compared to most Christian worship music today. Live strings are to me, the closest instruments to what I imagine heavenly music to be. So I wanted to add them on some of the songs, keeping in mind, “less is best!”
Through times of great trial, distress and trouble, I sought the Lord in the midst of it all. I was drawn into His embrace, so much, that I kept coming back to Him for more. Through His great love He graciously would give me a new song to sing that would draw me deeper into worship. These songs became my lifeline to hope and peace. Every time, they would lift my heavy heart and I could go back into the battle filled with strength and confidence. As I worshiped with these songs every day, I believed they were just for me to sing to Him. Then the Lord told me to share them with others. I sang these songs, some of them for months before going to the piano and adding chords, intros and endings. I loved the simplicity of them being sung accapella. I was content with them that way. It was then that I shared them with my husband, Matt. Next the Lord had me share them at my church. At first I really struggled with doing this. Why? I’ve been a worship leader for my entire adult life. I have been writing songs for and about Jesus since age 12. I never had a hesitation to share them with others. But, this time was different. I had been experiencing deep intimate worship and I just couldn’t see that fitting into a corporate setting. But the Lord so graciously spoke to me His plans for these songs. I was to share these songs and invite others to enter in with me. These songs are to be another channel for His anointing for healing, hope and restoration for others, and not just for me. He knows there are many of you longing for the deep place, the safe place of being in His presence; of knowing Him closer than you ever have before. The arrangements for these songs are purposely simplistic and kept to a minimum compared to most Christian worship music today. Live strings are to me, the closest instruments to what I imagine heavenly music to be. So I wanted to add them on some of the songs, keeping in mind, “less is best!” I was trained in classical piano and my favorite songs used to be, “the faster the notes the better.” I also have a love and appreciation for many different styles of music. But with these songs, I am playing fewer notes and fewer chords. I have had to adjust to this new style for me, but now it’s my favorite style! I don’t know what these songs will do for others. But I know what they have done and are still doing for me. I still sing them accapella in our little prayer cabin for my worship time. My hope and desire is that every listener will have a “God encounter” in a new way and that each of you will be awakened to the need for the intimate place with your Lord and Savior. I hope you never forsake making time for this. Be blessed and touched, Sherry McPherson
